What is AlphaGen Screener & Why It Matters
Master the PSX With AlphaGen Screener
The AlphaGen Screener is the core discovery engine inside AlphaGen. Its purpose is simple: help you identify the strongest PSX opportunities based on a combination of fundamental momentum, sector leadership, and technical confirmation.
Most retail investors struggle because the market contains hundreds of stocks, endless opinions, and constant noise. One company may have strong earnings but weak price action. Another may be trending technically but backed by weak business performance. AlphaGen Screener solves this by combining both worlds into one institutional-style workflow.
Instead of randomly browsing tickers, the screener allows you to define your exact criteria and instantly narrow the market down to stocks matching your preferred setup.
Whether you want:
- Strong recent quarterly performers
- Long-term compounders
- Sector leaders
- Bullish technical setups
- Liquid tradable stocks
…the screener helps you isolate them within seconds.
The system uses a 0–100 scoring framework:
- 0 = weakest
- 50 = average
- 100 = strongest
This makes stock comparison far easier and more objective than traditional retail investing methods.
Key Terms to Know
Alpha QoQ Score
This score measures how strong the company’s latest announced quarterly result was.
It focuses on recent business acceleration and momentum. Companies with high QoQ scores are showing powerful near-term improvement in areas such as earnings growth, profitability expansion, or operational strength.
A high QoQ score often signals that:
- Business momentum is accelerating
- The market may begin repricing the stock
- Fresh institutional interest could emerge
This is useful for finding companies entering a new growth phase.
TTM Performance
TTM stands for Trailing Twelve Months.
Instead of looking at only one quarter, this score measures how strong the company has been across the last 12 months.
This helps filter out “one-quarter wonders.”
For example:
- A company may post one exceptional quarter
- But if the last 12 months remain weak, the TTM score will reflect that
High TTM scores usually indicate:
- Consistent execution
- Sustained profitability
- Healthy ongoing business momentum
3Y Performance
The 3Y score evaluates company strength over the last 12 quarters.
This is your long-term structural quality indicator.
While QoQ focuses on recent acceleration, the 3Y score helps identify businesses with:
- Durable growth
- Long-term operational consistency
- Strong historical execution
Companies with high 3Y scores are often businesses that have proven themselves across multiple market cycles.
Sector Leadership
Not all sectors perform equally.
A stock may look strong on its own, but AlphaGen also compares it against companies within the same sector.
The Sector Leadership Score measures how dominant the stock is relative to its peers.
A high sector leadership score suggests:
- The company is outperforming competitors
- Institutional money may prefer this name within the sector
- The business has stronger positioning compared to peers
This helps investors focus on leaders instead of laggards.
Signal Labels
Signal labels describe the stock’s current technical condition.
Uptrend
The stock is bullish on both:
- Short-term basis
- Long-term basis
This represents the strongest technical structure.
Weak Uptrend
The stock has turned bullish on the short-term basis, but the longer-term trend has not fully confirmed yet.
This can represent:
- Early-stage recovery
- Transition phase
- Potential emerging trend
Downtrend
The stock is not bullish on the short-term basis and may continue struggling until stronger momentum returns.
Initiated
This tells you how many bars ago the current signal became active.
For example:
- “5d Ago” means the current bullish or bearish condition started 5 trading bars ago.
This helps users understand whether a move is:
- Fresh
- Extended
- Already mature
Running % Delta
This shows how much the stock has gained or lost since the current signal was triggered.
Example:
- If Running Delta shows +82%, the stock has already moved 82% since the signal became active.
This helps users evaluate:
- Trend strength
- Signal maturity
- Risk vs reward positioning
