AlphaGen Screener: Finding Market Opportunities with Precision

The AlphaGen Screener is built to help users filter the market and quickly find stocks that match specific model conditions.

Instead of manually checking every stock one by one, the Screener lets users narrow the universe using AlphaGen’s core framework: fundamentals, technical trend, liquidity, sector strength, and market setup quality.

It is designed for one simple purpose:

Find the stocks that meet the criteria, remove the noise, and bring the strongest setups forward.

What the Screener Does

The Screener scans the market and displays only the stocks that match the selected filters.

A user can filter stocks by:

Trend condition
Whether the stock is in an uptrend, weak uptrend, or downtrend.

Fundamental score
How strong or weak the company is based on AlphaGen’s scoring system.

Liquidity
Whether the stock is actively and frequently traded.

Sector
Which sector the company belongs to.

Period
Which quarter or reporting period should be analyzed.

Health condition
How close the stock is to its important technical support level.

The result is a cleaner, more focused list of stocks that fit the user’s exact search criteria.

The Main Screener Filters

1. Trend Filter

The Trend Filter helps users screen stocks based on their technical structure.

AlphaGen classifies stocks into different trend states so users can quickly understand whether a stock is strengthening, weakening, or already in a confirmed trend.

Weak Uptrend

A Weak Uptrend is a stock that was previously flat or structurally bearish but has recently started to show early improvement.

This can be an early-stage recovery setup.

The stock may not yet be in a fully strong trend, but the first signs of improvement are visible.

In simple terms:

Weak Uptrend = early improvement after weakness or sideways movement.

Uptrend

An Uptrend is a stock with a structurally bullish setup.

These are stocks where the technical structure is already positive and momentum is improving.

This is generally the cleaner trend category because the stock is not just recovering; it is already showing stronger market behavior.

In simple terms:

Uptrend = bullish structure with improving momentum.

Downtrend

A Downtrend is a stock that has broken important support and is now more likely to fall further or remain sideways.

This does not mean the stock must immediately decline, but it does suggest that the technical structure has weakened.

In simple terms:

Downtrend = broken structure with higher risk of weakness.

2. Alpha Prob QoQ Score

The Alpha Prob QoQ Score measures how strong or weak the company’s latest quarter was compared with the company’s own usual quarterly performance.

QoQ means Quarter over Quarter.

This score helps answer an important question:

Was the latest quarter normal, poor, or unusually strong for this company?

AlphaGen treats this as a percentile-based score:

0 means the quarter was among the worst.
50 means the quarter was around average.
100 means the quarter was top-notch.

This is useful because some companies naturally have high or low numbers depending on their business model. AlphaGen compares the company against its own normal history, making the score more meaningful.

A high Alpha Prob QoQ Score means the latest quarter was unusually strong compared with what the company usually reports.

A low score means the latest quarter was weak compared with the company’s own normal performance.

3. TTM Score

The TTM Score evaluates the company’s performance over the trailing twelve months.

TTM means Trailing Twelve Months.

This score gives a more durable view of business quality because it is based on a full-year period rather than a single quarter.

The TTM Score helps answer:

How good or bad is the company’s recent full-year performance?

Like the QoQ score, it is also read on a 0 to 100 scale.

A higher TTM Score means the company’s recent full-year performance is strong.
A lower TTM Score means the company’s recent full-year performance is weak.

This is especially helpful for users who want to avoid reacting too much to one good or bad quarter.

4. 3Y Score

The 3Y Score measures how the company looks compared with its own position three years ago.

It helps answer:

Is this company better or worse than it was three years ago?

This gives the user a longer-term view of business improvement or deterioration.

A strong 3Y Score means the company has improved meaningfully over a longer period.
A weak 3Y Score means the company has not improved, or may have deteriorated, compared with its previous three-year baseline.

This is useful for identifying companies that are not only having a good quarter, but are also improving structurally over time.

5. Sector Leader Score

The Sector Leader Score measures how strong or weak a company is compared with its sector peers.

This score helps answer:

Is this stock a leader or laggard within its own sector?

A high Sector Leader Score means the company is performing better than many of its peers.

A low Sector Leader Score means the company is lagging behind its sector.

This is important because leadership is relative. A company may look decent on its own, but if its peers are performing much better, it may not be the best opportunity in that sector.

High Conviction Stocks

The High Conviction Stocks filter is designed to quickly find companies with very strong recent quarterly performance.

When this filter is selected, AlphaGen looks for companies whose latest announced quarter has an Alpha Prob QoQ Score of 90 or higher.

This means the company’s most recent announced quarter was among its strongest relative performances.

This filter is different from simply using the Alpha Prob QoQ slider with a selected period.

The normal Alpha Prob QoQ slider works with the selected quarter or date. The High Conviction filter overrides that and directly checks whether the company’s latest announced quarter has a 90+ score.

In simple terms:

High Conviction Stocks = companies with a latest announced quarter that scored 90 or higher on Alpha Prob QoQ.

This is useful for users who want to quickly find companies showing exceptional recent fundamental strength.

Sector Filter

The Sector Filter allows users to focus on a specific industry.

For example, a user may only want to look at cement, banking, textile, chemical, automobile, technology, or any other available sector.

This is useful when the user already has a sector view and wants to find the strongest stocks inside that sector.

It also helps when users want to compare companies within the same business environment rather than across unrelated industries.

Period Filter

The Period Filter lets users select a specific quarter or reporting period.

This is useful when the user wants to analyze stocks based on a particular earnings cycle.

For example, a user may want to know:

Which stocks had strong scores in a specific quarter?
Which companies improved during the latest reporting period?
Which names had weak results during that period?

The Period Filter gives more control over the time window being analyzed.

Health Filter

The Health Filter measures how far a stock is from its optimum technical support level.

This helps users understand whether the stock is near a favorable level, slightly lifted, overextended, struggling, or broken.

AlphaGen classifies health into practical categories.

Healthy

A Healthy stock is very close to its optimum support level.

This usually means the stock is not too stretched and may still be positioned around a technically reasonable area.

Healthy = near the optimum level.

Strong

A Strong stock is slightly above its optimum support level.

This means the stock has moved up from its key area but is not extremely extended.

Strong = lifted, but still controlled.

Extended

An Extended stock has moved far above its optimum support level.

This can mean the stock is strong, but it may also be more likely to pull back because it has already moved a lot.

Extended = very lifted and more vulnerable to a pullback.

Struggling

A Struggling stock is having difficulty reclaiming or holding an important technical level.

It may be trying to improve, but it has not clearly confirmed strength yet.

Struggling = fighting against a key level.

Broken

A Broken stock has broken an important level and has not been able to reclaim it in time.

This is a weaker technical condition and may require more caution.

Broken = key level lost and not yet recovered.

Reset Button

The Reset button clears the selected filters and returns the Screener to its default state.

This is useful when the user wants to start a new search without manually removing every condition.

Top Screener Summary

The top summary section shows how many stocks currently match the selected criteria.

It usually includes three important numbers:

Opportunities

This shows the total number of stocks that meet the current filter conditions.

If the user changes filters, this number updates to reflect the new filtered universe.

Liquid

This shows how many of the selected stocks are liquid.

A liquid stock is one that is frequently traded and generally has enough market activity for easier entry and exit.

Liquidity matters because a stock may look attractive on the model, but if it does not trade actively, execution can become difficult.

High Scorers

This shows how many of the selected stocks are high scorers, usually referring to stocks with very strong model scores.

This helps users quickly understand how many strong names are available inside the current filter selection.

Stock Cards

After filters are applied, the Screener displays matching stocks as cards.

Each stock card gives a compact summary of the company’s setup.

A typical card includes:

Ticker and company name
The stock symbol and full company name.

Sector
The business sector the stock belongs to.

Price
The current market price.

Alpha QoQ Score
How strong or weak the latest quarter is compared with the company’s usual quarterly performance.

Trend status
Whether the stock is in uptrend, weak uptrend, or downtrend.

Health status
Whether the stock is healthy, strong, extended, struggling, or broken.

TTM Score
The trailing twelve-month quality score.

3Y Score
The longer-term improvement score.

Sector Leader Score
The stock’s strength compared with its sector peers.

Together, these cards allow users to quickly compare opportunities without opening each stock individually.

Running P&L %

The stock card also shows Running P&L %.

This tells the user how much the stock is up or down since the signal was generated.

For example, if a stock shows positive running P&L, it means the stock has moved up since AlphaGen’s signal appeared.

If it shows negative running P&L, it means the stock has moved down since the signal appeared.

This is useful because it shows whether the setup is still fresh, already moving, or under pressure after the signal.

In simple terms:

Running P&L % = how much the stock has gained or lost since the model signal appeared.

Grid View and Table View

The Screener supports both card-style and table-style views.

Grid View

The grid view is useful for quickly scanning stock cards visually.

It is easier to read when the user wants a clean summary of each stock’s score, trend, health, and price.

Table View

The table view is useful when the user wants to compare many stocks at once.

It presents the same information in a more structured format, making it easier to sort, scan, and compare multiple names across different metrics.

The table view may also include additional fields such as volume pressure and sector inflow.

Volume Pressure

Volume Pressure measures how high or low the stock’s trading volume was on a given day compared with its usual one-year volume behavior.

This helps users understand whether unusual activity is taking place.

High volume pressure may indicate that the market is paying more attention to the stock than usual.

Low volume pressure may suggest that the move is happening with less participation.

In simple terms:

Volume Pressure = today’s volume compared with the stock’s normal one-year volume pattern.

This can help users separate quiet moves from moves supported by stronger market activity.

Sector Inflow

Sector Inflow shows whether money appears to be moving into or out of a sector based on how the sector is behaving against the KSE100.

AlphaGen classifies sector behavior into conditions such as:

Leading
The sector is outperforming the KSE100.

Improving
The sector is gaining strength against the KSE100.

Weakening
The sector is losing relative strength.

Lagging
The sector is underperforming the KSE100.

This helps users understand whether a stock belongs to a sector that is receiving market support or losing participation.

In simple terms:

Sector Inflow shows whether smart money is moving into or away from the sector.

A strong stock inside a leading or improving sector may have a more supportive environment than a stock inside a weakening or lagging sector.

Search and Sorting

The Screener also includes search and sorting tools.

The search bar lets users quickly find a ticker or company by name.

Sorting helps organize the filtered results based on the user’s preferred view, such as latest setups, strongest scores, or other available ranking methods.

This makes the Screener useful for both broad market discovery and quick stock lookup.

How to Use the Screener

A simple workflow can look like this:

Start by selecting the trend condition. For example, choose Uptrend if you want structurally bullish stocks, or Weak Uptrend if you want early recovery setups.

Then apply quality filters such as Alpha Prob QoQ, TTM Score, 3Y Score, or Sector Leader Score.

Next, use the Liquidity filter to focus only on frequently traded stocks.

After that, narrow the universe by sector or period if needed.

Then check the Health filter to see whether the stock is near support, slightly lifted, extended, struggling, or broken.

Finally, review the stock cards or table view to compare the remaining names.

The key idea is simple:

Only stocks that meet the selected criteria appear in the results.

This makes the Screener a powerful filtering engine for finding cleaner opportunities.

Why the Screener Matters

The AlphaGen Screener helps users move from a large market universe to a focused list of relevant opportunities.

It combines:

Fundamental scoring to measure business quality.
Trend analysis to understand technical structure.
Liquidity filters to focus on actively traded stocks.
Sector leadership to identify where market strength is concentrated.
Health classification to understand whether a stock is near support or extended.
Signal tracking to show performance after the model signal appears.

The Screener is not just a list of stocks. It is a decision-support system that helps users ask better questions:

Is the company fundamentally strong?
Is the stock technically improving?
Is the sector supportive?
Is the stock liquid enough?
Is it near a good level or already extended?
Has the signal already moved, or is it still early?

By answering these questions in one place, AlphaGen makes market discovery faster, cleaner, and more disciplined.
